Construction in Edmond, Oklahoma has played a big part in keeping metro-area home building almost even with 2010 so far this year. Home Builders in Edmond took permits to construct 371 single-family houses through November. 96 more than during the first 11 months of last year, according to figures from the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association. 2011 is coming to an end with some of the best sales figures since the recession began — and Edmond is a standout in those statistics, as well.
November ended with 7,979 homes listed for sale, a drop of almost 700 compared with October and the lowest number since 7,993 in February 2010, according to Oklahoma Association of Realtors. Home sales handled by Oklahoma Realtors continued strong in November with 1,155 transactions logged, 20.3 percent more than in November last year. The month’s sales volume of $176.9 million was a 16.9 percent increase over November 2010, Oklahoma Association of Realtors reported.
